The vineyard is located exactly on top of a hill in Castiglione Falletto, unusual position for Barbera. In the past, in fact, Barbera was more renowned and prestigious than Nebbiolo for Barolo, therefore the best positions were reserved exactly to it.
The optimal and uncommon exposure of this vineyard allows the berries to reach a complete and uniform ripening.
Barbera has the merit/defect to be a very productive variety also in areas less suitable to its development. Hence the south exposure and the green harvest are fundamental and indispensable to obtain great balance and elegance.
The white calcareous soil gives fragrance and at the same time structure to the wine.

Barolo Cerretta is dedicated to the Centenary of our winery.
